Still need to test it at a JB here, I've just noticed the model numbers are different  :-[. Still worth a test though if it has the same thru-mode...

The reason I'd go for a 120hz gaming monitor is for pc gaming (FPS in paticular) and maybe some 3D, having it be input-lagless is useful too for xbox gaming. Since for 120hz gaming on a pc you need a special dvi cable, I'd doubt consoles could go 120hz.

Basically if you game from an xbox360\ps3 on a 120hz monitor you will still be seeing a 60hz refresh rate. A tv will do all of that interpolation stuff and add lag.

That being said, I'm not a big FPS gamer in but after experiencing it in a person at a mate's place its enough for me to make me fish for a monitor that can fulfil both gaming needs...

Otherwise I think its about time I pick up that 27inch viewsonic that had reviews posted before heh.

Hey guys, thought I'd share this, as it is probably my next purchase (if I can sell my current monitor) and it is currently on sale at jb. The lg-d23420 is a 23inch 120hz monitor (so it does 3d and smooooooooooooooooooth 2d gaming) with a mode that eliminates input lag all together. Check it!

NBN will be in about 5 years, and we might even have a new government by then, who might scrap it...

Point is, the NBN shouldn't be a consideration in modem purchase since you'll prolly be due for an upgrade by then anyway

It's funny you mention sponsorship because that one TVC tournament was actually sponsored...

I for one do like UMVC 3 and I'm sure there's more than a few others out there.

If however you want those other games to take off you need to build it up, the main games have a foot in already as it has mass appeal, simple as that.

only thing im looking forward to in this game is the infinite combos muahahaha
that pandora looks like the allspark from transformers
optimus prime in crushing the car minigame wooo

Everything we've heard\read so far is pointing to Pandora not being a comeback mechanic, losing the round right after its finished, not being able to pull off regular tag bnb's and damage combos and  (most likely) being based on the health of the fighter sacrificed does not make a comeback mechanic.
The comeback mechanic so far shown is Cross Assault and looks miles ahead of xfactor in terms of enjoyment and swingy-ness,

Classic mode isn't ST 1:1 (speed differences- which is why it isn't used for tournaments)

KoF 98's netcode sucks from what I've read for consoles.
I'll be up for a ST remix night fo'so though.

Practise will save you so much more pain in the future of having to lug a stick around, as well as not being able to play correctly in an arcade. I think like most new players on stick you are 'riding the gate' that is trying to feel out the corners physically, what you want to do is make the movements as minimal as possible, until you can hear the switch of the direction click in.  It'll take a couple of weeks but is well worth it, as it means you'll get less chance of RSI with your wrist and strain, and you'll hit the motions faster.

If however you do insist on an octo-gate, it's simple to replace you'll need to buy one from lizardlick. The link below is what you need, its a matter of screwing it in after opening your stick.
