LAST YSB FOR THE YEAR
LET'S TRAIN FOR SXC GUYS

Details
Date: Saturday, 7th November 2015
Time: 11:30am - 10:30pm
Location: Red Room, Level 1, 99 York St Sydney NSW 2000
Entry Fee: $15

The doors will open at 11.30am so we can start setting up. If bringing setups, it is recommended to arrive at this time so we can help coordinate the space and power requirements for the setups on the day. Also, if you plan on parking downstairs you will have more chance of getting a spot if you're early.

Players are free to move about any game and any setup for casual games, though in the interest of fairness and ensuring everyone gets games in, please restrict casual matches to the best of three games if anyone else is waiting to play. Winner stays on. Please be considerate of others and ask if any onlookers whether they would like to play games.

While OzHadou and other communities are providing gear throughout the day, DIY setups are welcome for all games, listed or otherwise; the more setups, the more games for everyone on the day!

What is YSB?
YSB stands for York Street Battles - Sydney’s monthly gathering for all fighting games, which is supported for the players by the players. It is held at the central venue of 99 on York St in Sydney’s CBD.

Casual play, exhibitions and tournaments are all welcomed and encouraged on the day on a multitude of OzHadou and DIY set up games. Tournaments are optional, and will be run if there are sufficient numbers/interest on the day, with casual play taking up the majority of the event.

All players, communities and games are welcome - if there is a game which is not listed for DIY, please feel free to come and bring a setup - YSB is the ideal place to get people playing and interested!

BYOC - Bring Your Own Controller
Spoiler for Hidden:
Setups provided by OzHadou for casual and tournament play will not have any controllers (sticks/pads). If playing on these setups, you will need to supply your own stick or pad. There will be no spare controllers available.

There may be sticks and/or pads being unused on the day by other players, and borrowing with permission or prior arrangement while permitted, is not advised due to potential availability issues - for example, you may be playing a tournament match against each other, or at the same time. It is therefore highly recommended to bring your own controller regardless; most sticks and pads will easily fit in a small backpack for the event.

OzHadou setups are all Xbox360s running on BenQ LCD and LED monitors. Please consult other groups’ organisers with regards to any other controllers needed on the day.

Registration
Signups will be taken at the front of the Red Room by the YSB organisers - David (kyokugen), Henry (Genxa), Jonathan (Jarop), Will (azuzu) or Youssef (FaYd). Please stop by at the front desk before moving onto playing casual/tournament games. Correct change also helps.

We will be collecting registration on the day at the front until 2pm. If arriving after 2pm, please locate a YSB organiser to register. Please make it a note to locate and register as soon as you arrive at the venue, and to have correct change to make the process as smooth as possible. We will be checking registered players throughout the day.

Tournament Announcements / [SYD] YSB #26 - 20th September
« on: September 08, 2014, 01:52:46 AM »

Hi everyone,

If you are reading this, please sign up above so we can gauge numbers on the day. We'll be offering an entry fee refund to a lucky person who does sign up here. For Ozhadou forum members, all you need to do is click "Sign Up". If you are browsing as a guest at the moment, we recommend you to sign in with your Ozhadou forum account if possible. Otherwise, typing your game name and game you play in the comments section is fine. Suspicious guest sign-ups will be ignored in the draw.

Details
Date: Saturday, 20th September 2014

In addition to entry fees, tournament fees will be collected for games running on OzHadou equipment, i.e. SSF4:AE2012, and UMVC3. Any other tournaments will be arranged by their respective communities.

Buying and Selling / WTS: Hori Fighting Stick VX, HD PVR2

Currently selling the following. Was going to put these up on Ebay, but figured I should try posting here first if anyone is interested:
  • Hori Fighting Stick VX (New) - $60 (2 available)
  • Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition (Used) - $120
I'm located in Sydney and can pass over the goods at YSB events. PM me if interested. If these go unsold by the 17th, I will probably just put them up on Ebay.

More things to sell in the future hopefully?

Tournament Announcements / [SYD] YSB #22/BAM6 Qualifiers - 12th April
« on: March 25, 2014, 01:10:36 AM »

Greetings.

Details
Date: Saturday, 12th April 2014
Time: 11:30am - 10:30pm
Location: Red Room, Level 1, 99 York St Sydney NSW 2000
Entry Fee: $15

The doors will open at 11.30am so we can start setting up. If you're bringing setups, it is recommended that you come at this time so you can set your stuff up as well. Also, if you plan on parking downstairs you will have more chance of getting a spot if you're early.

You are free to move about any setup you like playing various casual games, though in the interest of fairness and ensuring everyone gets games in, please restrict your casual matches to the best of three games, before swapping out with someone who is waiting. Winner stays on.

While OzHadou and other communities are providing gear throughout the day, DIY setups are welcome for all games, listed or otherwise; the more setups, the more games for everyone on the day!

What is YSB?
YSB stands for York Street Battles. A monthly gathering of fighting game players in Sydney at a central location in the city (99 York Street in the CBD) for a full day (and evening!) of casual matches, exhibitions and tournaments for various fighting games.

YSB is intended for all players of all levels be you a beginner, serious player, casual player or even a spectator. All are welcome to attend and meet others who enjoy the genre in a local setting.

With BAM6 approaching on the 10th-12th May 2014, the top two placings for each tournament run at this YSB will receive seeding points for the Melbourne major. These seeding points will be passed down in the event that players cannot attend BAM this year.

Games which may qualify can be found on this page, however not all games will be run by YSB staff.

BYOC - Bring Your Own Controller
Setups provided by OzHadou for casual and tournament play will not have any controllers (sticks/pads). If you want to play on these setups, you will need to plug in your stick or pad. There will be no spare controllers available. On the slight chance that people aren't using their stick or pad, you can ask them for permission to borrow it. Keep in mind they are allowed to refuse. Guilt tripping them will not be tolerated. Alternatively, if you have made arrangements beforehand with your friends to share sticks that's fine as well. Seriously though, save yourself the hassle and carry a back pack with a stick/pad in it.

OzHadou setups are all Xbox360 bound to BenQ LCD and LED monitors. Please consult other groups’ organisers with regards to any other controllers needed on the day.

Registration
Signups will be taken at the front of the Red Room by YSB organisers - Myself (Kyokugen), Henry (Genxa), Jonathan (Jarop), Will (Azuzu) or Youssef (FaYd).

Time: 2pm til late
Location: Good Games Town Hall, 222 Clarence St Sydney
Entry Fee: $15 / $10 past 6pm

Organisers: Kyokugen (David), Will (Will)

We will be holding a casual event at Good Games Town Hall this Saturday from 2pm onwards.

There are 4 store setups which will be divided evenly between games (determined by numbers). All games are welcome to be played - we will be supplying our own gear for KOF/VF setups, but if anyone wants to play anything else, BYO is encouraged, with a $5 discount applied for players bringing monitors/consoles/laptops (arrive before 6pm, approved in this thread).

The majority of the space will be available to us for the event. We are looking into running sessions at GGS Town Hall like this at least once a month, and the possibility of more frequent meets, so we urge anyone who wants offline casuals/tournaments to attend and check the space out.

The event is also BYOC (bring your own controller). While there are two spare store controllers available at the venue, to ensure there are no shortages, an additional $5 fee will be charged to players who do not supply their own controller to the venue.

Public Transport
Good Games Town Hall is approximately 1~2 minutes walk from Town Hall station.

Parking
Parking is located less than 100m away from the venue via Wilson Parking.
Cost is $15 until 12am, $12.50 when booked online.
