I'm going to cancel this due to a general lack of interest and the fact that my life is absolutely crazy at the moment. I'm still down for some random GGPO KoF if I ever get the time, though.

Other Fighting Games - General Discussion / KoF 2000 GGPO Round Robin
« on: March 03, 2013, 06:35:51 PM »
Thought I'd try this give this a try.

All characters are legal, including Kula. Striker must be random select but you can pick alternate strikers if they are available. Glitches and infinites are not banned, but also not encouraged. This event is supposed to emphasize enjoyment for all involved, rather than a competitive play to win attitude. Don't be that guy that gets a lifelead then floats off the screen with Athena...

Maximum of 8 players.

03/03/13 - Signups open. Practice the game or try out different teams. Matchmaking will be in IRC on #ozhadou@EFnet. I'm happy to teach the game or point people in the direction of resources to learn. Signups close once 8 players is reached or it gets close to the start date.
18/03/13 - FT5 Round Robin begins, play matches at your leisure and report results here. The competition closes once everyone has finished their matches. I'm not sure if I should do finals or whatever, we'll see how things pan out.

Prizes: $10 for the overall winner, $10 for the coolest combo, mixup, glitch, comeback, whatever, record your matches and send them to me if you want a chance to get this.

Criticisms, comments and suggestions are welcome. Ask me if you need help getting onto IRC/setting up GGPO.

That video is worth watching just for Joe's FF3 theme.  ;D

Let's hope that KoF on Steam rumor is true then.  :P
If my computer is on you can find me either on Steam or IRC (#ozhadou @ EFNet).

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to post this vid too. Majijam is the best.  8)

I'm thinking of setting up some easygoing (but still competitive) GGPO KoF round robin with a twist kind of thing in the near future. With prizes, too, so I can actually entice people to bother playing.  ;)

I bought this for 360, from Zavvi however, so it'll probably be ~3 weeks before it gets here.

I'm getting it for 360, whether I play it for more than a week is another matter, though.  ;D

Yeah the netcode seems pretty good so far, although I think that's helped a lot by the game having a generous buffer. GGS to those that I played. I didn't know you could invite people to that player match thing, have to give it a go next time.

Anyone wants to add me on XBL, my tag is Remxi.

I saw a vid where Clark juggled his airthrow after a j.D at the end of a long combo, seems to indicate it has anywhere juggle property now. I'm pretty sure that Kula thing was always intentional, she had something similar in 2000 and so have other characters (Blue Mary can do it in 97/98).

SFxT is sold but the anime collection is still available.

Dropped prices by $10, local discount still applies.

Street Fighter x Tekken - $40
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings Season 1 Blu-ray Collection - $30

Both brand new/sealed, prices include shipping to anywhere in Australia. I'll knock $10 off the prices if you are a Sydney local and collect this from me at YSB. If you think the prices are too high but are still interested, make an offer.

Can someone give me the email address of whoever is responsible on THQ's side? They sent me the wrong version of the game and I want to try and sort things out without having to mediate through 2 other people first. I already asked Berzerk but got no reply.

Tech Talk / Re: NEW isp for gaming?

From my limited experience, Internode is great and TPG sucks (although it is still good value). TBH though, your latency is gonna be affected more by your location and local infrastructure than what ISP you go with.
