Street Fighter V - General Discussion / Re: Street Fighter 5

The BETA is live now. Testing for the EU region, but I guess we can get in 'cause we're PAL. Played a few games against people from Sweden, plenty of rollbacks, bit of input lag here and there. Not even a minute in training mode before finding matches! Wish I could just train for a little bit to test out stuff before getting into matches.

Good to be busting out my HitBox at YSB after a super long hiatus! Fun casuals, fun night, and cheers to everyone who gave me tips to make my Gouken less shitty.

Godlike pianists at the end tho!!

I work 2pm-10pm minimum (before glorious overtime kicks in) 4 nights a week so most people are off the games by the time I'm home. Managed to have some good games against phantom feign and GirlsDigMyScore though.

I'm still as bad as ever!

So since I don't get home from work till sometime after midnight, I was wondering how active XBL/PSN are at these times. Or does anyone know what the most popular times are in general for online play??

Want to dust off the HitBox to see if I can't get decent enough for the next YSB.

Booooo missed the last 2 cause I had other stuff going on and today I woke up too late.

Must make... the next YSB...

Anyone looking for a standalone capture set up should look into the AverMedia Game Capture HD. Supports 50/60hz up to 1080i via component cables and has a 2.5" bay as well as USB. So you can capture onto it's internal HDD (if you choose to install one) or to an external USB disk.

GameCapture HD Product Page

It's no use to people who want to stream, but for just capturing footage to be edited/uploaded later it's one of the simpler alternatives. And only about 170-180$

This was my first event. I did terribly in the AE tournament, but had lots of fun playing casuals before/after.

Least my HitBox got lots of attention :D

Can't wait for the next one!

So I went to my first event at York Street yesterday and got a lot of attention for my crazy custom HitBox. For anyone who wants to look into getting their own custom stick made up, the dude's website is:
and on youtube at

Rough prices are as such:
250GBP for a blank case (painted, but no art or components)
300 for an unwired case w/ components (art, buttons/stick but no wiring or PCB)
400 for a complete stick (PS3/360/PC)
450 for a multiconsole stick (same as above + ps2/ps1/GC support)

and 50GBP express courier to australia (or 80gbp depending on the materials/size of your stick).

It's fairly expensive considering most people are able to just buy some parts and mod their TE/HRAP/etc.. but if you want something that's fully customised to your specs and you don't have the skills to pull it off yourself (like me) then I highly recommend B15SDM.

Looking forward to attending this as my first OzHadou-related event ever :o

Although it might be a little embarrassing being the only person playing on a HitBox :P

Random Discussion / Anyone else got a HitBox?
« on: January 14, 2012, 02:26:51 PM »
So I've had a HitBox for about 2 weeks now and wondered if anyone else out there had one and what they thought of it personally?

Even after 2 weeks I'm struggling to do even very simple combos, mainly anything to do with jump cancels (BB:CS, UMvC3). SSF4AE isn't too bad although super cancels in KOF are pretty difficult for me.

All in all, while I'm getting better at using it it still feels awkward at times.

Thats cool man i went to Galaxy world a couple days ago when you free to go again?.
Haven't been going too often lately, maybe once a month or so. Not sure when next time will be, but me and my mate usually hit up GW late on Friday or Saturday night. Went there a week ago on Friday night and it was the busiest we've ever seen it with 4 or 5 other people on the SF cabs. Normally we go and it's dead.
