Thank you all for coming, it was great day for gaming. Shout out to Henry & Phrances for coming along as well. After 3 previous attempts, Henry finally gets his revenge! coming back from the losers bracket to clinch out the victory in Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition.

Well done Henry.

Does anyone in Aus play ST/HDR competitively?
Retro-gaming ftw.

They certainly do, I am one of them

Tournament Announcements / [ACT] CFGL BAM6 Qualifiers - 19th April
« on: April 06, 2014, 02:49:21 PM »
Canberra Fighting Game League has been invited to participate in the BATTLE ARENA MELBOURNE 6 Qualifiers seeding points tournament. We welcome anyone who can make the trek down here. ACT has been rather popular for the top Aussie players from Sydney in the past, they have been here many times in the ACT for the OHN Qualifiers, so it would be fantastic to get folks back here again.

It would be awesome to have them here again, attempt to get some seeding points for BAM, probably the last chance to do so as well.

Date: Saturday 19th April, 2014
Time: 10:30am onwards
Location: Good Games store in Lanyon Marketplace, Condor, ACT
Entry Fee: $5

The top 2 placing's (from each game) will receive the seeding points for BAM6.

Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3
Super Street Fighter 4 2012 Arcade Edition

UMvC3 and SSF4AE2012 are most popular, as for the other titles:

Killer Instinct
The King of Fighters XIII
Super Smash Bros: Brawl, Melee and Project M
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate
Injustice: Gods Among Us
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

Subject to numbers, time and equipment availability, if there are enough people who want to play these other titles, please let me know and we get something happening, otherwise we are just going to run UMvC3 and SSF4AE2012.

We will be setting up in the store from 10:30 am.

Please restrict your casual games to best of 3 if anyone is waiting.

Setup's will be Xbox 360 but we will probably have PS3 setups for casuals as well.

BYO Setup/Stick/Controller. Whatever you can bring, that would be great.

Please leave a reply if your interest so we can get an idea of numbers. If you have any questions please reply and I will try to answer them.

New characters: Rolento, Elena, Hugo, and Poison  and a brand new character. Wonder what type of character they will be adding. 6 new stages too.

Nice, thanks Heavy. I guess we all saw this coming, a predictable update, but! probably the one we all wanted right

Bet you $100 the big mouth does not play the game, or at least didn't provide any positive feedback, on why HB was terrible.

You will find that "actual commentators" (Mike Ross, Ryan Hart and so on only praise Humanbomb) not disrespect a world class player...

I will try not to mention the obvious ones Shang, Rob and co.

Norri, Allyoucaneat, Me, Vladan, Enzzed, Waza, ok there is 6 I can give you about 50 more if you like.

Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit.

I can beat those guy's easily. As they can beat me easily. It's not high level, it's mid rangers beating mid rangers.

You're shit Girlsdig. Like proper shit. I'm not even joking mate.

You can't mention "shang" or "rob" in the same breath as the rest of us minks.

Wake up dudes. Same guys finish high in the tourney's every year. Not a fluke!  ;D

Not sure why name is dragged into this, but I don't even remember playing half the folks on XBL.

As a tournament player, and who has also won many offline tournaments over the years, local SSF4 ones, but national SF2 comps, I don't need to prove myself anymore. I can say that offline and online a two very different things. I know everyone in this country worth playing in person.

I play Rob and Shang offline, very different matches online. Regardless of the results, online is not a judge of skill.

You should attend an offline tournament sometime, you won't know what hit you :)

Hey..I am new here, I am from Sydney, Can I join this league for the April one...I am interested in to play SSF4AE..

Sure, of course. I've played you online last night, Xbox.

OK, if you have facebook there is our group, there with all the details there also, directions and information.

How to deal with Sim's knockdown, fireball, teleport bullshit?

This may sound stupid, but the best option is not to let yourself be put into that situation.

Yun vs Sim - kills Sim. ALL day.....

Best advice for sure Genxa, I say it all the time. But yeah, this is how it's done ;)

Genxa! ;) FT5 AE ($20) no character lock.

Also any takers in Super Turbo MM? come right this way <<<

This guy wants a runback hahaha

Haha you know it!

I'll meet ya half way and we can make it an A2 MM? :) haha

I'll do ST but ya gotta gimme a 4-0 lead Vlad, you're too stong!!

Yep! A2, I'm in for some Alpha 2. I can give you a 4-0 lead in ST (thank you for the kind words), it's not showing you much respect if I do!, plus I know you can handle your own in any SF game, so it would be no lead given  :P

Will ST be available for MM? Also I am not a gambling man but a few friendly games for drinks?  ;)

Sure Igor, that sounds good to me. If we don't have an actual ST setup, I will have the HDR there, we could play that in classic mode, worst case scenario ;)

thanks for event Canberra guys!!
however terrible storm came, everyone went home early:(
and our return trip was so hard way lol

Yes, thank you Sydney for making the trip!. I was thinking about you guys last night and your trip home, wishing you all a safe trip. The storm was bigger than I thought, it hit through the whole of Canberra, and did some serious damage!. See you all soon

I can bring a setup if needed.

Is the venue booked for the whole day/night?

Calling out Vlade for an AE MM.
FT5 $20
I know you want a runback muhahaha

Any others interested in AE MM?

Yeah bring a setup, at least it's there if we require it, and plus the more set ups the better, as we have the room for it this time.

OK I'm in for the money match FT5 ;) keen to in fact. I'd also like to see maybe somebody else do this too, maybe Steve (Heart Of Winter) vs Genxa? ;)
