XNDL,

How's it going buddy?

I want to also wanted ask and point out, your bans will probably extend to banned games in Australia.

Namely the new Mortal Kombat (MK9).

I just wanted to know policy on this, because if I had to guess, it may not be allowed to be discussed here at the ozhadou website.

However most definitely, I'd imagine it wouldn't be allowed to be played at a event or tournament.

Not that there is many people that want to play or discuss that game.

I figure this would be worth mentioning.

Community News / Re: OHN Community Input - Round 2
« on: August 17, 2011, 03:13:28 PM »
Geez I get busy with Ramadan and I miss out on all the good threads like this one. I would have loved to have commented on the "OHN Community Input - Round 1" thread.

I voted for Option 2, but I really wanted to also include Option 1's mention of "flights to other tournaments".

Most of what I wanted to say has already been said by Tom and Atomic X.

Regarding the issue of Prize money for all top 8 Finalists, I personally think this is only viable if the total prize pool is high enough.

I am all for boosting the Prize pool to high amounts, I think it does make significant difference and is really better for the scene.

But not much point in giving barely anything to the finalists that get 6th 7th and 8th, if the prize pool is the main focus.

However its not like the main reason people play tournaments is because "money is on the table". People play for the love of the game or for the players they meet with the common interests.

If you are playing to win healthy amounts of money then you are in the wrong hobby (well at least for now).

International players, more setups, online streams also I think ticket(s) to Evo for the winner(s) is important in moving forward rather than just declare a "Australia's Best" outcome.

All these things mentioned in the last paragraph are largely significant, I don't think that anyone can say that one or only a couple of these options are good enough to move forward, the event and scene needs to grow across the board not just in a couple of directions.

To FAB and Ziggy >> have you guys ever thought of advertising "booths" for the OHN event that gaming distributors and alike, could purchase from ozhadou for OHN?

KOF XII being at (I think) OHN7 gave me the idea. However I am fully aware how much of a long shot this is, since the video gaming industry isn't strong in this country.

If it could work, I think this could way of generating revenue for the things already mentioned ie international players, evo tickets, Setups etc.

I am just trying to think outside the box, hopefully others can do the same and come with much better ideas.

Well this is all I have for now, if I think of anything else I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Hi,

I will be going to Shadawloo Showdown 2k11 at the end of the month, but was wondering if there was anyone willing to share a hotel room with myself.

I am going to give preference to someone I have known some time, rather than someone who just uses the forums or I have only met on a few occasions.

Please reply promptly here in this thread if you like, but preferably via PM if interested.

Thanks

Post Event Discussion / Re: OHN9 Aftermath
« on: May 30, 2011, 02:05:02 PM »
Hi,

I sorta bailed rather quickly once my car arrived, so I didn't get to say many Thank Yous and Goodbyes.

So special thanks to my fellow organisers DK, Goswu, Ziggy, FAB, Genxa, Hebretto, Jack and anyone else that I may have forgotten to mention. Please forgive me if I missed you.

I love doing this every year and being part of the team that helps put the event to together, so I hope we keep doing this for many years to come.

DIY Tourneys went well I thought, so big thanks to Kyokugen (and his team mate) for running ST. I came 9th!

Sadly, I wasn't able to hang out at GGs and attend the lunch 'get-together' today, so next time I will try make sure I take another day off.

Lastly, I screwed up yesterday, so I would like to give a special shout out to Hebretto and Jack, when we presented the Photo Albums to Ziggy and FAB I forgot to mention that they were hugely instrumental in supplying a lot of photos used, so thanks guys, your efforts will always be greatly appreciated.

By the way Happy Birthday to Tom and Hebretto, just how old are you two now?

I hope make it to SS so see you all there.
