Here's a pretty good run-down of the match between Mike and Swolefiend from L.I. Joe detailing lots of little nuances that may have gone overlooked by many.

He points out a lot of interesting details such as:

- Normals doing recoverable chip damage
- EX meter use, including stance/mode changes and EX application to specials such as Ryu's shinshoryuken
- Revenge/Ultra use, including the ability to cancel combo into it similar to Third Strike/ST's Supers
- Ryu's 2 and 3 hit fireball properties
- What appears to be a just-defend mechanic in action and its multiple uses
- Elevated importance of counterhits and the massively increased cues when they come into effect
- OTG attacks
- Side switches to retain positional/side continuity between rounds
- Quick recovery from knockdowns (potentially only applicable to soft knockdowns?)

Man, the Decapre buffs. Holy hell.

v1.04 changes. Translate away.

http://nesica.net/pdf/ur4_pdf_20141211.pdf

E.Ryu clipped down to 900 health. Akuma fireball comes out 1f faster (neat).

Ken c.mk hurtbox reverted, cannot plink air tatsu to escape.

Looks like Hawk got some of his dumb taken away too.

Anybody who can read Japanese might wanna chime in on these until the formal english notes are released.

Scratch that. Here we go: http://www.reddit.com/r/SF4/comments/2p8h6k/japanese_patch_notes_for_version_104/

Some interesting things from GAF:

- Time / Weather effects in stages
- Release date : 2016, before the end of the fiscal year.
- Unreal Engine 4
- The new mechanic is named V-Trigger : You can change your stance.
- 16 characters
- No Super Street Fighter 2X + EX (Updates kinda like League of Legends / Killer Instinct)
- The story mode will be way much better, they know they fucked up with sf4.
- The PC version is here mostly because they want to bring the game to Latin America, South Asia, Africa

The footage makes me wonder if it's the same engine as SF4. It looks to be.

So far the skeletal animation system appears to be the same, with it actually demonstrating some of the same shared animation sets from SFIV (some of the reeling, fall and spin animations for example). Place holders perhaps?

Graphically its had quite an overhaul though. I'm curious to know how it feels. Recall SFxT used the same engine, albeit in a heavily modified way. The feel of the game was completely foreign however which really threw me off when I first tried it and it's for that reason that I can't bring myself to make any assumptions about SFV, especially considering it's still under development.

I'm really keen to see some gameplay demonstrations this coming weekend at Capcom Cup - that ought to paint a much clearer picture for sure. I'm loving the beefed up detail this game is going to enjoy graphically though. Some of the characters and stages are going to look fantastic.

Steam is just shit. Green bar can mean no bar. And you can't send messages to one another or anything. It's a horrible piece of software.

Steam is not shit.

Capcom and Q-Loc's implementation of it is. Huge difference.

I was born a nameless child.. fighting for survival, a lone wolf with no company apart from that of my shadow.. at the age of 15 a sought out to find the meaning of my existence, a journey that I will never forget and a story that will be told for generations to come.. one night upon reaching my final destination *underages nightclubis* I was faced with a challenge of epic proportions. after drinking the liquid of kings *vodkaria* from the crystal goblet I came across my final test.. I had to face my fears.. my challenger? who else but myself. I stepped upon the podium.. my arms pointed upwards towards the heavens.. then, out nowhere, I heard it.. as if the gods had whispered it in my ear them self’s.. and with one mighty roar... a legend was born.. *I... AM... MuzZTekK!!!!* With a cheer from the crowed I proceeded to rek my former beta self in to oblivion.. from that day on.. muzza blood ran through my veins.. and my legacy.. will live on forever..  8)

Holy shit. So it's actually true.

(I assume the second 'k' is silent though?)

wake up/ random Ultra really isn't in my book of tricks.

Put it in anyway.

Gentlemen, in Australia we footsie with Ultra.

Akuma used to be able to :/

Also does anyone else get really good games for like half an hour then it just has a meltdown and starts freezing and shit? Happens to me constantly.

I had this issue a few weeks back and it turned out one of the locking posts for my CPU's heatsink was broken and my CPU was overheating. After maybe 30 mins the CPU would run obscenely high and I'd encounter all sorts of issues. Other games weren't sensitive to this, but SFIV was. I fixed the busted locking post and all is now well. It even gave me some Akuma buffs.

What temperature is your system running at when this occurs?

For which platform?

The problem isn't Steam, it's the new outsourced developer they transitioned to for Ultra's release.

QLoc sucks and this isn't the first Capcom title they have spectacularly screwed up. They'd do well to drop these morons ASAP because the PR backlash from Ultra's woeful release has been pretty damaging.

I noticed better connections to some players, but others got far worse than before. Not sure if anything was fixed.

I came out swinging saying the patch didn't do a decent job at addressing the problems, though I must admit a few random public lobbies I've joined recently have been quite decent. Perhaps the patch took its time to propagate across all players or it had to wait until it overwrote those in the recent beta test?

They don't quite compare to the connection quality with private lobbies, but there is an improvement for sure. I tried a couple of ranked matches too - one was horrific, one was OK.

I don't think Capcom are 100% there yet, but I guess at least they are trying. Lots of people are still pretty pissy though - the Steam forums are a venom pit right now. It's like an army of over 9000 Sojis.
