Whoops haha. Fixed!

Hey dudes,

Just a friendly reminder that this is happening in a couple of days. I have recorded 48 people who have signed up online, and I heard there will be more showing up as well. That's awesome! Thank you for all your support <3

The more setups we have, the more games everyone can play. Here is a list of what we have for the event as per everyone's post.

Fireryda1 (PS3)2-
Kyokugen2 (1 PS2)42

To have full setups and ensure everything is being used, we still need 2 sticks and 2 monitors. If you can help make up the numbers it would help immensely. It means less waiting and more playing for everyone, and for people who brought gear their efforts aren't wasted.

If you are coming by car, there is parking available at the venue. It's $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Please note that you need to hand in your keys to the staff. For details:

** Updated Details **

Date: Saturday 23rd July 2011
Time: 11am - 11pm
Location: Phillip Suite, Level 2, 99 York St Sydney NSW 2000
Entry Fee: $15
Tournament Entry Fee: $5 each

At the moment we intend to run tournaments for SSF4AE and MVC3. I am unsure if there is any interest in these.

During ACL I was introduced to the Swiss-system tournament format. People at ACL were happy with it, so I would like to try running one of these to see how it goes. We will play the minimum number of rounds until we get the top 8, where we will then play double elimination. All matches are best of 3 games. If people don't want to play Swiss we can just do standard double elimination tournament.

How to Get Here
The venue has directions here: We are in a different room this time, but still on level 2. When walking out of the lift area it should be on your left to the right of the administration office.

The venue also offers parking. Details can be found here: The parking entrance is located at 168 Clarence St Sydney NSW 2000. The rates are $10 for members/$15 for non-members.

If you have any questions, either send Gamogo/Shane or me a PM or post here.

Cheers guys!

Venue booking has been confirmed. I changed the times to 11am - 11pm so we don't have to rush as much when we're packing up. We're in a different room this time as well. I'll update the first post with all the details.

Thanks guys! See you all there =]

Wow! It is really great to see so many people =]

It would be super helpful if you have the correct money ($15). It makes things more efficient, and a lot easier for everyone.

Thanks for your support, and see you all tomorrow!

Attention Sydney fighting game players!

As you're all aware, AE drops in a week or so combined with the Sydney community having been starved for a local/console sessions with each other for quite some time.

To take advantage of everyone's renewed enthusiasm for SSFIV Arcade Edition we have decided to pull together and run a locals session for the Sydney community (and anyone else keen on coming of course!).

* Location: Bass Suite, Level 2 99 York St Sydney NSW 2000 (the same location as OHN9)
* Date and Time: Saturday 18th of June, midday - midnight
* Entry: $15
* Games played: It makes sense that AE is the focus, but MVC3 and whatever else people are keen to bring along

Other Stuff
Smokers will be required to either sign into the club downstairs to head to Level 1 or Ground Level smoking areas, or go outside the venue on York St.

The lifts will access into the building until 11:30pm and access to outside until midnight latest (please note that the club closes at midnight Ė so everyone will need to be out of the building at this time).

The equipment standing is very healthy. Insofar between us and those volunteering their gear we have the following:

x9 screens
x14 Xbox sticks
x3 PS3 sticks (although this is a variable number due to dual mods, etc)
x10 Xboxes
x2 PS3s

This equipment is amassed from the following people:

This is also excluding another 3 possible complete Xbox setups and also the DIY setups (PS2s, etc).

This is a lot of gear and indeed a lot of dedicated setups. To those bringing equipment - you kick ass.

Right now I'd like to request that those of you bringing PS3s, or at least planning to, to please not do so. The reason for this being because we currently have enough setups and I don't want to see people bring equipment unnecessarily. You are welcome to bring your PS3s if you choose to, but please keep in mind that they simply may not be necessary.

Now with 10 Xboxes and 14 Xbox sticks you'll quickly realise that we are actually short 6 Xbox sticks to satisfy these setups. If you are coming on Saturday, please consider chucking an Xbox stick in your bag if you own one as it may make the difference between an extra setup or three. Unless of course your name is CrazyFreeRider, in which case you might as well hurl that octogate into the harbour.

If we are shy any oddball peripherals, cables or whatevers on the day, I will be making a run to Jaycar to grab anything outstanding such as HDMI leads, power cables or possibly basic speakers.

If you have any suggestions re: hardware, please let me know.

Lastly, please label your equipment where possible. I will bring some provisions to do this on the day however if you are able to do this beforehand it'll make life easier for everyone and allow us to get setup quickly and get things rolling. I will be recording what you bring into the venue on the day so that all gear is accounted for.

The idea behind this event is to help revitalise the Sydney locals community, celebrate the release of AE on consoles and have a good old fashioned day-long gathering. To help make this event a success for everyone, we are asking interested participants to consider bringing along any hardware they feel may help out on the day. More setups means more games for everyone, so take a moment to think about what you might be able to bring in - a stick, a console with games, whatever you are comfortable with. We have an amount of hardware that will be provided on the day, but more always makes the day merrier.

If you are interested, please make your enthusiasm known in this thread as it will help us plan some of the finer details. If sufficient numbers are also confirmed, we may be able to bump the pricing down somewhat. If you are among those who are able to bring some equipment, please send me a private message detailing what you can bring as this will also go a long way towards us planning things efficiently. Please note that if there are not enough people interested this will not be going ahead.

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, fire us a message in this thread or send me a PM.

People can pay venue entry for OHN9 on arrival at the event. The venue entry fee at the door is $60. Note tournament entries will be accepted at the door! You will only be able to watch the official tournaments and participate in casual gaming and/or DIY side tournaments if you donít register online. Note that on-site registrations are still eligible for BYO discounts.

Speaking of which, is there a possbility of that figure changing? $60 to spectate and play casuals seems pretty steep, especially since it's actually more expensive (at this point) than to compete in an event.

I have removed the section about on-site registration, since the point is to preregister for the event. It helps streamline the process =]

I am also in the middle of fixing up some styling issues that have occurred on the Registration and Checkout pages. I will get sorted as soon as possible. It still works, it's just ugly.

I'll be there.
