Post Event Discussion / Re: OHN11 - Stream highlights

Hey JB

Do you know any way to save twitch archives?, I usually use JDownloader which saves them as flv files but I keep getting errors when trying to save the OHN11 archives.

thanks

ps. I met you a long time ago at the ACL event in Melbourne and I got the impression you're pretty much the best guy ever. I really enjoyed the little JB touches you put into all your streams.

Although I'm from Melbourne I wouldn't want anyone from the Melbourne community streaming OHN. It would completely lose the unique identity you've crafted for all your streams in previous years. Hope you don't lose the fire for streaming because the Button Smash stream had more personality than any others I've seen and I'm pretty much a full time stream monster!  ;)

Hi Loki

Will the June 9th event be at the same venue as this weekends event?, or are you guys testing out other venues.

In VF5 although you could multi throw escape you could not multi low throw escape so It's actually the same situation post crumple as it is now. Also that stuff can be struggled so people wont fall for it after a while.

Wolf is one of the characters that has changed the least in FS, so you'll adapt very quickly to the changes to his strikes, the throw changes effect every character, but at least wolf still has most of his signature moves.

Goh would be a great character to use, he's really solid now doesn't require much execution (unlike Jacky) and has all the tools that are important in the new system.

Random Discussion / Re: Australian Street Fighter history

Around 1994 I entered a console Street Fighter 2 tournament at the Glass House in Melbourne. Being a console tournament there were no joysticks The event was some kind of small trade show / tournament.

I assume it was 94ish because I remember it was the first time I saw Super Street Fighter 2 arcade version. I heard of this tournament through High Tech Game Center which had a shop in Greensborough and one in the city somewhere. They had a stall at the event.

I have some vague recollection of a company called Indigo marketing being the organizers but I'm not really sure. I just remember there was a SF ripoff character on the venue guide with long black hair wearing a blue gi and the name of the company on his outfit.

All I remember of the tournament was that I was meant to play at 7pm and ended up waiting around till 11pm, I played one match, which I managed to win and then I was asked to come back the next day, which I didn't. I was young, my mum took me there and I didn't really want to go back the next day.

Somebody must remember this event or the store High Tech Game Center?, how about Mega Madness in Macleod?, what about the strip poker machines that used to be in a small arcade along the same row of shops as Box Hill Playtime :P.

There should be plenty of drug addict stories from the people that used to frequent White House :P.

This game is dropping between June and August into XBLA and PSN.

What a coincidence that's also when I'm dropping SC5 and SFXT :p, hope to have some games with you when it drops MadeMan

The netcode is pretty good imo. I've been able to play against Japanese players in playable matches, so if there aren't many people in the local areas of the global colosseum you can always play in other areas.

Guys, I totally forgot to pay this month!, but I'll pay for this month next time  ;D.

I was running late for VF5 so I guess it slipped my mind  :P.

Loved the new venue btw, though I guess It's a bit far for some folks, but only 20 minutes for me as opposed to 45 for the convent  ;)
