Provider: Telstra Bigpong
Plan: Cable Ultimate - the DOCSIS 3.0 plans (price varies with quota and bundles and reward systems and whatnot)
Location: Brisbane (I find I get better online games with folks in Mel/Syd than in Bris - I think our connections are going down south and then back up again)
Speed: Testing on speedtest and AARNET generally gives me 95Mbit down, 2.5Mbit up and 7ms latency. I'm keen to see if I can get it over the official 100Mbit one day, since it is actually a 120Mbit connection, they just don't tell you that.
Also, if I remember correctly, my parents' ISP (think it was iinet) had some gaming-specific connection optimisations that reduced latency at the expense of a bit of bandwidth. I'm on Internode and AFAIK there is no such option available.
Yeah I used to be on iinet ADSL 2+ and used this. They referred to it as the Gaming mode from memory. Essentially it was near full bandwidth utilisation but with interleaving disabled. They warn that you could experience stability problems, but I found it worked for me, though I was about 50m from the exchange. Line sync back then was around 20.5 Mbit. I think the latency was around 15ms.
