To block the Wesker + Strider reset, you have to block the direction Wesker is standing. The OTG Gun + teleport will direction change, but I vary the timing of teleport such that sometimes Strider hits you before the teleport crosses up. Plus sometimes I teleport but then dash back to where I was so it direction changed twice.
Since OHN:R Syd I have experimented around with a few other tricks to this reset, the most obvious thing to note is that Wesker's L and H teleport both crosses up. So just watch for the timing on the actual teleport.
Cheers for that.
I was reading the The Ouroboros Mixups/Combo Thread, and I like the following strat:
"Heres my oroboros mixup. Basically I activate them then pop xfactor and mash all the buttons while mashing vajiras "
Were you doing just that, or?
Also, what was that bnb you were doing with Strider?
With XF3 Ouroboros, yes. First consider how the hit lands, imagine what happens in slow-motion:
- First few hits of Ouroboros fly towards opponent
- I now use teleport, which may/may not have crossed-up (different versions)
- When Strider is under XF, his speed increases, but most notably is that his FALLING SPEED increases. This means after teleport, I am very close to the ground, allowing me to use jump H just above ground. Normally, Strider's teleport -> jump H is very hard to combo, but with XF it is easy.
- What this means is that I'm not only using front/back mixup, but also high/low mixup, because I can teleport -> jump H, or teleport, land, cr. L.
- When either of the two hits -> full Ouroboros combo.
After the opponent is hit by Ouroboros:
- There is a certain point when hitstun decay gets too high, and you will fall out of the Ouroboros combo. Usually this is around 30 - 40 hits mark.
- At this point, I will use another teleport. If you didn't block right, the Ouroboros combo is now reset.
I've tried a proper combo for XF Ouroboros, which is launch, (jump H, L Excalibur) x n. This can also get to the 40 hit mark, but doesn't seem to do as much damage as the mashed Ouroboros charge.
Strider's most simple BNB:
- LMH, cr.H, S, sj. MH + L Excalibur, j. MHS
-- Legion
-- Ground Bomb -> Ragnarok
-- Ouroboros (the safest way to activate)
-- Ground Bomb -> S (risky)
- LMH, cr.H, S, sj. MH + L Excalibur, j. MH + L Excalibur, (land) S, MMHS, Ground Bomb -> mixup (risky)
With XF:
- LMH, cr.H., S, sj. H + L Excalibur, (j. H + L Excalibur) x n, (land) S, MMH + M Excalibur, S
-- Ground Bomb -> Ragnarok
-- Ouroboros
-- Ground Bomb -> mixup
The number of times you can use j.H + L Excalibur varies, Nemesis can be by the loop hit 5 (!!!) times.
