GGs George, I have no idea why I kept getting hit by that strider assist + wesker reset ...... mind letting me in on that?

Strider is BS.

To block the Wesker + Strider reset, you have to block the direction Wesker is standing. The OTG Gun + teleport will direction change, but I vary the timing of teleport such that sometimes Strider hits you before the teleport crosses up. Plus sometimes I teleport but then dash back to where I was so it direction changed twice.

Since OHN:R Syd I have experimented around with a few other tricks to this reset, the most obvious thing to note is that Wesker's L and H teleport both crosses up. So just watch for the timing on the actual teleport.

Cheers for that.

I was reading the The Ouroboros Mixups/Combo Thread, and I like the following strat:

"Heres my oroboros mixup. Basically I activate them then pop xfactor and mash all the buttons while mashing vajiras "

Were you doing just that, or?

Also, what was that bnb you were doing with Strider?

You know there is only one way to understand why mashing during ouroboros is effective.  Go to training mode or just verse someone, when you have the chance activate xf3 and ouroboros then do these two options:

1. properly mixup your opponent and try to combo off confirmed hits
2. press all the buttons, maybe teleport every now and again then press buttons again

You will notice two things during option 2:

1. The whole zoo comes out and chips/hits your opponent to death
2. You will love marvel more than ever ;D :o ;D

With XF3 Ouroboros, yes. First consider how the hit lands, imagine what happens in slow-motion:

- First few hits of Ouroboros fly towards opponent
- I now use teleport, which may/may not have crossed-up (different versions)
- When Strider is under XF, his speed increases, but most notably is that his FALLING SPEED increases. This means after teleport, I am very close to the ground, allowing me to use jump H just above ground. Normally, Strider's teleport -> jump H is very hard to combo, but with XF it is easy.
- What this means is that I'm not only using front/back mixup, but also high/low mixup, because I can teleport -> jump H, or teleport, land, cr. L.
- When either of the two hits -> full Ouroboros combo.

After the opponent is hit by Ouroboros:
- There is a certain point when hitstun decay gets too high, and you will fall out of the Ouroboros combo. Usually this is around 30 - 40 hits mark.
- At this point, I will use another teleport. If you didn't block right, the Ouroboros combo is now reset.

I've tried a proper combo for XF Ouroboros, which is launch, (jump H, L Excalibur) x n. This can also get to the 40 hit mark, but doesn't seem to do as much damage as the mashed Ouroboros charge.

Strider's most simple BNB:
- LMH, cr.H, S, sj. MH + L Excalibur, j. MHS
-- Legion
-- Ground Bomb -> Ragnarok
-- Ouroboros (the safest way to activate)
-- Ground Bomb -> S (risky)

- LMH, cr.H, S, sj. MH + L Excalibur, j. MH + L Excalibur, (land) S, MMHS, Ground Bomb -> mixup (risky)

With XF:
- LMH, cr.H., S, sj. H + L Excalibur, (j. H + L Excalibur) x n, (land) S, MMH + M Excalibur, S
-- Ground Bomb -> Ragnarok
-- Ouroboros
-- Ground Bomb -> mixup

The number of times you can use j.H + L Excalibur varies, Nemesis can be by the loop hit 5 (!!!) times.

And most important thing with Strider combos: SAFETY FIRST. I would not use any risky combos if my backup plan aka L3 Wesker is unavailable.

Dropping a combo -> whiffed normals -> enemy gets a combo -> 750 health says Strider dies

Cool, thanks for the tips George.

When I was playing you, your aim seemed to be build at least lvl3 for strider (anchor) and xf3 lvl3 to kill my team off. Are you saying you would have used Wesker's lvl 3 if given a choice?

Also, Is it possible to combo off a qcf S, H (wall divekick)? Been trying it in training mode, but I can't link anything after that... Just wondering what's the purpose of the move if it doesn't combo after.

Edit: nvm, found out how to combo with that wall dive.

Hey all!

Not exactly sure if this is the right thread to post this so i will just try my luck :P

I have finalyl finally fainnyll FINALLYYYY chosen a team in UMVC3!!

So i was wondering if anyone would like to have some lengthy sessions on XBL at all? Just to let everyone know though, i don't take online matches seriously at all :P I use online to help me learn the current trends, human tactics and matchup knowledge etc.

So if you are super sick and want a moving training dummy i am yo man! OR If you are just starting out then by all means add me for some games because i am not the type to sit here and gloat about my win or whatever.

Add me on XBL and let's learn how to chop wesker's balls off and shove them right up his ass!!!  8)
Cai Zhen: will you switch to another game or another character?You mained Honda for 18 years already, no, almost 20 years.
KUSUMONDO: Sometimes I see some people pick sagat in vanilla Street Fighter 4, and in AE they will switch to Yun. When I think of that,I think I won.

Whatever Jake,

Mr Lagfinites, if I wasn't so concentrated on winning the last match of our sessions (every single time if I recall) I'd try harder to break open some online tactics.

When the internet allows me to do palmfinites i will rejoice.

GGs to Afterdeath and Hari today. We played some good long sets and the connection was near perfect. You guys have solid defense and some crazy hit confirms.

@Hari: I now understand the power of magnetic blast lol note to self - use it more :P
