When do you use X-factor?

As per topic.

Do you wait until your opponent uses their or do you burn it early if you have the chance to take a character out in one combo?

For me it depends on who your opponent has as their third character. If it's someone like Sentinel I'm keeping X-factor saved until I have the chance to use it on Sent and get him out of there.

Unless I have a chance to wipe out the point character and an assist that's been caught on screen while Sentinel is off-screen, that's a chance I'm willing to take.

It appears to be a situational thing for sure, I guess overall it gets used when I have a chance to remove the character who I believe poses the biggest threat to me.

my theory with x factor is this if the opponent seems weak and hasn't activated i will sometimes use it on my second character if they are low life to get rid of them quickly, the other instance is when 2 characters are dead i will use it to get the high damage for 20 seconds on the last character i have.

Combos.  My team generally doesn't combo too much, so when I do land one I may XFC if I think it's worth doing (killing 2nd or last character).  Also I have a dirty trick that I mentioned in the team thread (thanks to Ziggy's idea) where I XFC a block string and instantly go into FHB with Haggar.  Instant invulnerable lv 3 grab super.  It's awesome.

I generally try to save it for my final character though, as I'm finding the bigger damage benefits really help for me (Hulk especially - he can KO most in one combo by that point).

Lately I've been using it more to negate chip dmg as well as make an unsafe move safe. Like I throw a bad whirlwind @ a level 3 x-factor sent and he HSF I than XFC to not lose half my life and to negate losing another significant chunk to neutralize HSF x4. So I pretty much use it to stop Sent XFC 3 from ocving my team.

Played about 30 ranked matches today and used it that way mostly.

Level 3 XF is broken. I have reverse OCVed teams with XF Hulk random hypers lol. Anything that connects really kills someone. The flying boulder on XF lvl3 almost kills dante outright.

XF is so random. A team with more skill than me but I win because of XF. Im not complaining since i win but id rage if i lose a reverse OCV to a person you know is not on your level.

i like to save xfactor for x23 unblockable lvl3 hyper set up if they're down to their last character or if their 2nd last character is sentinel lol.

otherwise i'll save my xfactor for my last character, cause as i was told... who ever activates xfactor last wins

Like Geese said - its situational but also like Bksama said - asve it for your last character. I mean its your meal ticket out so you don't wanna bust it out too early or too late.

I've never had to use it though. If you're good at the game you don't need X-Factor So S-Rank

I use it when I can catch my opponent using sentinel's assist and I know that hyper xfc hyper would kill him.

If you guys havn't listened to it, Keits and Skisonic have a really good discussion about it in the latest ep of Wakeup SRK which gives some good insight and some pros and cons about situations.

I basicly agree with the notion that you don't wanna be the first one to throw it out. Against LVL 3 sent whores (Such as myself -_-) you can use it to negate the chip damage which is really usefull, and if somone uses it to kill one of your characters, you can bust it out to make the match level again.

In the end it's really situational as to when to use it, the best time to use is it when it won't goto waste

If throwing it out will kill the other person's sentinel then it's probably alright to throw yours out first. >.>

The thing about X-Factor is that (if you use it smartly), its almost impossible to waste. It's just to good.

A large part of MVC3 is going to be who can use X-Factor the best.
