I should clarify it's $2 extra for the SSFIV pot, we're not having a MvC3 pot in the first month to encourage people to pick up and try the game.
Give us your opinions though if you think we should adopt a pot for MvC3 from the next event onwards though.

It's cool that this is next door to my house, but why did we change from the convent?

Long story, we'll explain it on the day.

@Loki: I don't think many people will mind paying the $2 for both SSFIV and MvC3.
Some might only come for MvC3.

Hows the parking at the new venue?
Your problem is you don't have any rhythm!

When I drove past, it looked like there was some parking at the back. Other then that, you can park on the street.

I'm sure most people won't, but the idea was really so we didn't scare anyone off on the first event from getting into MvC3, since it's brand new we want to encourage as many people as possible to get serious about it. I'd certainly be recommending a buy-in the second month, I'm just hesitant about the first month that's all.
What do you guys think?

It's cool that this is next door to my house, but why did we change from the convent?

The short version of the story is that the convent wants to change it's image and become more of a wedding venue, so they aren't accepting bookings from community groups like us anymore. It's a shame, but we're moving on to bigger and better things. We expect this venue will be better apart from the less central location. We'll test it out either way and then see what we think. :)

For those bringing gear I'm told there's parking right next to the doors to the venue.

Sure, nobody here is going to say "I'm not comfortable with paying $2", everybody on this forum has already decided whether or not they want to play the game, and a pot isn't going to make much of a difference, but I do conceptually like the idea of CW as the more casual gathering compared to CCH/Deakin, which are all about leveling up, the meetup where there's people who play different games (as in, more different than SF4 vs MvC3), and people can try out the games they don't currently play seriously, and I think having no pot the first month for a game encourages that. It's not about the amount of money, it could be $10 or 20c, it's the required weighting of "do I really want to put my hand back in my wallet?" vs "sure, why not try the shiny new game?". I'd also argue that for most of us, the game is new and shiny enough to build hype in and of itself.

Or at least, that's my current wacky theory, and as Loki said, obviously there would be a pot next month.
This game glorifies violence. I love it for this reason.
