Ridiculous. A gameplay patch should have come out 1 year after release, not one month. This patch should have been a glitch fixing or non gameplay related fix only.

At no point was sent broken because of his health. In fact, I don't even think Sent was that broken, he was just a really good character. His damage output was the key to him winning, he only domniated early game so much because people didn't know how the game worked as a whole, and since he was easy mode to do massive damage it was only natural he was going to dominate. Being the massive target that he is, he is going to die so incredibly fast now.

A list of things that should have been looked with sent without changing his health:

Removing OTG df Rocket punch to a non OTG (would decrease his damage potential significantly)
Hyper armour on S (why not have super instead)
Super armour on c.B (an easy mode mash reversal when someone misses a link in a ground combo)
70 frames on invincibility on harddrive (can get out of all air resets and all air pressure for free with one meter and leads to combo in corner, can counter in for free with 2 meters not on point)
X-factor damage (for everyone though, not just sentinel)

Why does capcom think nerfing health = bad character? It's the overall tool set of a character and how each tool matches up against the tools of other characters.

I love this game, and am probably one of the few people that didn't have massive issues with it, although I do think Xf damage output is too high, and generic throws are too strong. I agree with what Toxy said, playing a set team won't do any good if they are going to patch it every second monday. I am the exact sort of player who will benefit from this as well, since I play 80% of the cast to an average level instead of one team to a high level, but working hard to find all the advantages is something that should not be punished.

I don't think we'll be seeing more patches anytime soon. But if we do, I hope it's to balance out X-Factor.

I really think people happy with this nerf are being shortsighted.. Next Monday it could be your character that gets nerfed.... And it's just ridic period to make changes so quick.

I don't think we'll be seeing more patches anytime soon. But if we do, I hope it's to balance out X-Factor.

weskers next, he has ridic damage for having 1.1 million health. People are going to notice more now that sent got hit with a nerf.

I do agree with akumas tatsu infinites being patched out but they missed a few...

Welcome to the future boys... I think mk9 is going to patch shit on the fly as well...

  • 1. Sentinel's health reduced.
  • 2. Akuma's hit stun on Hurricane Kick decreased, removing infinite.
  • 3. Spencer ground glitch removed.
  • 4. Haggar ground glitch removed.
  • 5. Dormammu's Jumping Medium Attack does 70,000 damage, up from 50,000.
  • 6. Reportedly, Spencer's corner loop has been removed.

also reports of sent S and command grab slight damage increase

looks like im looking for a new 3rd on my team, i seem to have the worst luck with my characters getting "balance changes"

Okay, if they're going to pretend this game is an MMO, can they take the MMO approach and actually post patch notes? Because this is kinda silly.

I think capcom said in the past they won't post change logs since they want the community to find out but if it's going to be mmo like and they make knee jerk reactions every month than be professional ffs and list them

Perhaps this will invoke character diversity. A lot of people's go-to Sentinel choice might now instead be open to new and different characters. Thats one positive aspect to this.

I also think scaling back X-Factor might have been a better route to take rather than going right for a specific character's throat.

Wait and see how it pans out. Who knows, Sentinel retains his damage output and abilities for the most part meaning he's still a strong character. It just looks like (a lot) more care is going to have to be employed when driving that bulldozer.
