This will be interesting. He'll destroy in IV, but his MVC3 game is completely unknown. I'm really keen to see how this pans out. I'd actually like him to take out MVC3 so that the yanks *really* gear up to try and take him down at subsequent EVOs as it would create the most intense hype ever.

The yanks like to claim superiority over MVC3 despite not really playing a great deal of Japanese players other than Tokido's token appearance at some early tournaments so a lot of their arguments are predicated on nothing. Thats not to say the US doesn't have great MVC3 players (they do) but to claim superiority over an adversary you're yet to see even play (Daigo of all people) is a bit of a stretch.

A lot of people are gonna tune in for this. We all know what Daigo brings to the IV table and it'll be interesting to see what he serves us in epilepsy fighter 3.
So keep your bankroll lottery eat your salad day deathbed motorcade.

Tokido beat Alioune in the stunfest finals for MVC3 so Tokido > Europe in MVC3.

Tokido got to Final 8 @ Final Round  but he also received a lot of advice and training from Justin Wong (there were also 3v3 teammates when they won mvc3 teams with Ricky ortiz), something I doubt Daigo will receive... unless he gives Daigo advice with the mentality of "i'll train him up so I can beat him @ his best".

Well saying he's going to do well when noone has seen him play is also a bit of a stretch. Regardless for Evo I think seeing how Tokido and Daigo (and who knows some specialist MVC3 players from Japan might come too) go in MVC3 will be more hype than the Yun and Yang procession in AE.

Although Tokido did win at stunfest, I can't say I was overly impressed by the level of either of the finalists. The finesse and overall strategy of America's matches were not there, a lot of needless meter wasting, a lot of excessive button pushes and a lot of missed opportunities on both the attack and the defence.

I would never count Daigo out of any game, but I think without a proven track record in mvc3 I would struggle to back him to win, or even make top 8. I would have to say I would be surprised to see him break the top 8 considering how many proven players the states has produced.

Who knows though.

AE is basically his.

Daigo said he won't be playing MVC3 at LA Revelations, wow... even though most of the top MVC3 players will be @ CEO why miss a chance to level up? It's not like he's going to have to take his Yun off autopilot @ Revelations outside of Sako... he debuts his MVC3 @ Evo he's going to get blown the fuck up.
