19th November, 2012:

- Added Twitter to custom fields. Add your Twitter details via selecting Profile > Forum Profile from the navigation bar. You do not need to specify your full address/URL - just your name as it appears on Twitter, the rest will be automagically populated (i.e. 'monsterjoe' will link to 'https://twitter.com/monsterjoe'). A linked Twitter icon will then display against your forum profile

Hey Gamago, just a rollback feature request if possible.

Hiding the gamertags into hyperlink images really streamlines the forum look but it's not so intuitive for memory poor old folks like myself.

Sometimes forum name and gamertags don't match up and looking left to see gamertags was great for those that relate fgc stuff to the people they play online.

Interesting point. I've made a small (crude) change which I'll tidy up later on. Is that a little better? I figure it satisfies both sides of the coin, though I feel it may be a little noisy.

- Re-instated front page updates. I suspect this is buggy due to WP + SMF cookies and CSS merging. The ignore function is broken and replying to thread sends you back to the forum index being two examples, among other problems. Please let me know if you encounter other weirdness so I can address it.

- Re-instated front page forum comments ticker and live streams applet. Please visit the front page to view. Both items update dynamically, with the stream widget being particularly useful if you quickly want to know what is live and viewable. Included stream providers are:

Whatever happened to the old forum? I did a search and found this thread with the link, but it doesn't work.

The old forum was decommissioned a few months back due to security concerns. The old (and discontinued) code it was using was rife with security vulnerabilities and was constantly subjected to Javascript exploits and injections. Because it was an unused resource I packed it away. Technically the data still exists though it will take some work to reinstate.

This is something I'd like to do to preserve a bunch of history, though its a low priority right now.

The old (and discontinued) code it was using was rife with security vulnerabilities and was constantly subjected to Javascript exploits and injections. Because it was an unused resource I packed it away. Technically the data still exists though it will take some work to reinstate.

This is something I'd like to do to preserve a bunch of history, though its a low priority right now.

Add your Twitch stream channel details via selecting Profile > Forum Profile from the navigation bar. You do not need to specify your full address/URL - just your channel name as it appears on Twitch -  the rest will be automagically populated (i.e. 'monsterjoe' will link to 'http://www.twitch.tv/monsterjoe'). A linked Twitch.tv icon will then display against your forum profile for all to see, click and be amazed by.
