I can only speak of my own experiences with online in Virtua Fighter 5 on xbox 360.It really was the best Ive experienced, I was regularly playing guys from Korea, occasionally Japan, I haven't been able to do that since with any game, I loved it.I remember having played this guy for a couple of hours straight and we were about even, I send a  FR and the guys from Korea, we couldn't communicate but he managed to say "you strong player", was a real delight, to know I was playing someone from so far away and we respected each other game, a fond memory.Ive been a fan since number 2 on the Saturn, still remeber very well when and where Iplayed number 1 the fisrt time, not sure what to think of the graphics. I cant wait for it, hopefully we get a good community going in Australia for the game, I truly think it's the best lighting franchise out there, but also Sega are doing it tough at the moment so hopefully we can help by buying this game.

Well... they did mention that they would have unlockable gameplay modes via the training/challenges or something I think. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was 'Hyper Mode' which lets you cancel all your moves into eachother (I think they had this in Fighters Megamix and VF4 as well) which looks kind of similar to that video.

Have totally dropped SFxT and have put AE well on the backburner to get into VF5 leading into FS, just wanting to get the feel for it again.

Alex I added you about a week ago to my XBL friends list, would be good to get a set in with you and get some match time happening against Melbourne's best.

That's awesome, I cannot wait to see this get some playtime at SS 2k12.

Also, on the topic of Vanilla VF5, would you say it's worth brushing up on that game to get back into VF? I haven't played in over a year I think. I wasn't sure if I should go back to VF5 on Xbox or wait for FS in case i learn some bad habits. Then again I would be learning from such a basic level again, I doubt it would make much difference.

This game really impressed me at SS over the weekend.

MadeMan I would say practice at VF5 but be prepared for some real differences when FS drops. When I first tried Wolf and Goh on the weekend I felt like a learner driver with stuff that had changed. I mean it's still VF5 but just don't expect all your stuff from vanilla to transfer over.

Snuck a few games in with Brad on FS over the weekend too, really keen to pick him up again when the game drops.

Can we get a list of who is getting this game and on what platform? I'm definitely getting it on 360 but will get it on PS3 as well if there is enough comp there.

Does VF has an annoying runaway character or a turtle character?

YES. I dunno the name but its a girl character.

Are you thinking of Eileen, and this video in particular?

Some more things about the upcoming port, there was a video showing that it's going to have the selectable music from all through the series of VF. Personally, I'm going to be rolling with VF2 music wherever possible.

In terms of netcode, they are apparantly using Daytona USA netcode as a basis, I don't have that game yet. Does anyone here have it? Thoughts on the netcode?

Fuudo's ringout of Ryan Hart yesterday was at least as good a troll as this video btw.

Would you believe that the only footage I caught of SS2k12 was the finals last night? Was all of VF streamed as well? Hopefully I can check out the footage tonight in the archives.

With regards to playing vanilla again, I think the biggest hurdle for me would be getting used to Wolf's throws in vanilla and then having all the inputs change on me in FS, thanks to only low throws being done with D+PG or some variation. Apart from that it looks like a lot of his strikes have changed as well.

One thing I was thinking about, with the removal of multiple throw escapes, will crumples into throws with Wolf be more viable? I can't remember exactly what it was, but there was one small string of attacks that ended with F+P which put them into a crumple, and you could follow up with a low throw like Pedigree or Tiger Driver for big damage. I remember hearing it wasn't all that useful thanks to throw escapes, but now it might be more viable? Come to think of it, this involved a stagger as well, which can still be mashed out of... hmm

In any event, I think I'm going to stick with Wolf and Jacky, but I really want to get better with Goh as well, he looked like he had some great tools in VF5, but he looks even better in FS.

In VF5 although you could multi throw escape you could not multi low throw escape so It's actually the same situation post crumple as it is now. Also that stuff can be struggled so people wont fall for it after a while.

Wolf is one of the characters that has changed the least in FS, so you'll adapt very quickly to the changes to his strikes, the throw changes effect every character, but at least wolf still has most of his signature moves.

Goh would be a great character to use, he's really solid now doesn't require much execution (unlike Jacky) and has all the tools that are important in the new system.

^Legend, thanks for the link!

Also, I think I might just pick up Goh in that case. I always thought that Goh would require higher execution than Jackie, hopefully he's not too hard to pick up the basics.
