Ethernet problem

Hello all...... Problems.

I've just recently switched to telstra, it wasn't supposed to be going on until tomorrow but it's somehow been switched on tonight. I noticed because of the red lights on the modem had changed. I signed in to the router , put the telstra password in and away we went. BUT.

I can't get my X-box working. Through a process of elimination, its the communication between the box and the modem. How do I know this? I've tried 2 different cables both hooked up to my lap top with the wireless function switched off and I can still surf the net. Therefore my Ethernet ports, cable and connection must be all fine.

I've got everything set to Automatic, nothing out the ordinary.

Has anyone got any pointers on how I proceed without calling deepest darkest Africa???

The Router is a Netgear N3700 with all the bells and whistles.

Sorted it. Seems Factory defaults on the X-box sorted whatever it was.

Prob can delete this thread.
