Hi all,

Dick Smith sells BENQ 24" LCD Monitor G2450 for $250 or an Acer 24" LCD Monitor P246HLbd for $200

So are they both good for laggless play?

Should I go the acer for $50 less?

Yet to find any lag test results on the G2450s, though the entire G series from BenQ in 24" have been excellent and are a fine go-to monitor for fighting games.

BenQ G2420s (which we use for YSB) can be had for $200.

Scratch that, I'm an idiot. We use the E series screens.

E2420 and E2400s. These weigh in at a similar price also (~$200).

Thanks Gamogo, I'm hoping to pick one up for the Canberra scene.

Id also recommend the XL2410T, but the GL is probably better for you guys cos it comes with built in speakers.

http://www.benq.com.au/product/monitor/gw2450hm/specifications

Double the response time(4ms) of most(all?) of the Benqs used in the community.
For me this would be a no go, but I could be totally wrong, need Gamogo or someone to chime in  ;D

You seem to like JB, if you have something organized with them or can get staff discounts, look up at the higher end BenQ's I scored mine from there almost half price thanks to staff discount ;)
(prolly also lucky cos it might have been old stock, previous year or so stock is fine, go for that too if u can save some $$$)

Well, response time has nothing to do with input lag, but it's probably not a great sign if it's a cheaper model.

Honestly though the only way to know whether it lags is to test it properly. Maybe google and see if anyone has done a proper input lag test on it? Otherwise it's just a "buy and hope" risk you may or may not be willing to take.

Ahh my bad  :-\ Knew id stuff something up.

I say play it safe and go for something that has already got a reputation with the community.
