OHN11 - Stream highlights
« on: February 26, 2013, 12:37:47 PM »
Hey guys,

Anyone keen on making stream highlights on twitch?

Here's an example: http://www.twitch.tv/ozhadou/c/1965044

I've gone through the stream archives and most of it is usable.

Hey JB

Do you know any way to save twitch archives?, I usually use JDownloader which saves them as flv files but I keep getting errors when trying to save the OHN11 archives.

thanks

ps. I met you a long time ago at the ACL event in Melbourne and I got the impression you're pretty much the best guy ever. I really enjoyed the little JB touches you put into all your streams.

Although I'm from Melbourne I wouldn't want anyone from the Melbourne community streaming OHN. It would completely lose the unique identity you've crafted for all your streams in previous years. Hope you don't lose the fire for streaming because the Button Smash stream had more personality than any others I've seen and I'm pretty much a full time stream monster!  ;)

I'm still too exhausted for a comprehensive OHN wrap-up post but I wanted to take a moment to thank JB for his amazing work with the OHN11 stream. Ever since EVO APAC I've become a strong supporter of anyone that's committed to presenting fighting games to the audience in a way that is entertaining to everybody, whether they're a long-time member of the community or a curious spectator seeing a tournament for the very first time. JB and his team gave us an amazing show in the Red Room over the weekend, and it was hands-down the best in-house presentation of an Australian fighting game tournament I've ever seen. The extended content JB provided no doubt rivalled or eclipsed the in-house presentation of many international tournaments as well.

I also want to apologise to JB for having to work with our weak Sydney infrastructure. Time and time again JB has come to Sydney and struggled to offer a decent live stream because we can't provide him with a venue that has decent wireless broadband reception or access to wired broadband that meets his specifications. I hope people will spare him any finger-pointing in this area. JB doesn't have the luxury of being able to visit the venue weeks in advance to develop a tested solution for the stream feed, so his efforts at OHN are always at the mercy of what he finds when he arrives (and it's usually substandard).

While I know some stream viewers were disappointed with the live feed, at the end of the day JB gave the people at the venue an incredibly well directed show and also created excellent archives on Twitch TV that we can all go back and watch at our leisure. Without JB none of these wonderful things would have been possible, so on behalf of the OHN Team I thank JB very much for giving up time with his family to make OHN the best it could possibly be under the circumstances.

I find myself going back and watching various parts of the stream again from time to time, is there any chance that the footage will be uploaded to youtube at some stage?
