I have so many nintendo products that it hurts me...I should go looking for some other nintendo stuff in Sydney during Uni break.

Jarop... I recognise that name, you were on Aussie-Nintendo back in the day right? Migrated over to Another-Castle at all? More of a Nintendo nerd than anything other gaming thing to be honest (except maybe Terry Cavanagh, I love him).

I'll destroy you all at the Pokemons.

Yeah dude! I was back in the day. haven't migrated to another-castle, might check it out now that things have settled down with the swap over. Let's play some gamezz sometime

Knew I'd seen the name. Definitely worth checking out, good people over there. I'm one of the Sydney crew, only joined AN in 2010 but I've made some of my best friends from the meetups and such.

Oh wow another castle is now the Nintendo hub for Aus? Pretty sure a mate of mine was partly responsible for it's development. Cray cray.

We'll, maybe not quite that. AC is made by pretty much the same people as AN, there were issues with the site owner, principally making change impossible due to a combination of ownership and apparently only existing once every 6 months. AC is what they wanted to make the site, in a way. It's multiplatform, as AN's community was for years, but still has a huge Nintendo fanbase due to its origins; not too many members who weren't from AN.

Who's the mate (if you don't mind saying)? Decent chance I know him.

You always buy the games, 'tis a fact of life. I lost a bit of touch around 5th gen due to annoyances with how the online was handled mostly. But I know my stuff so returning at any stage shouldn't be hard. Will likely go to try to be more competitive as 6th gen starts (it'll be weird having the info on base stats etc. roll out as the games come out, not 7 months prior).

If you guys are keen for some funsies wifi battles I'm down. Simulators aren't as fun for me, I like the feel of battling with my own 'mons (even though ill shamelessly IV/EV hack them because nobody has time for that arbitrary shit)

@hsb I'm not sure what my mate's handle is, but it could be St. Cameron. I won't give away his full name, but if it helps he's also from Wollongong. There's a chance I might be mis-remembering the facebook posts he was make about the site pre launch, but I'm pretty sure he mentioned he was involved.

I've been screwing around with competitive pokemon lately but it's more fun to screw around with less used pokemon! I love little league battles though because they're fun haha

Yeah, I'd be down for something, I'm pretty flexible, others can choose the rules and I should have something (not necessarily something good) to bring in. I prefer ingame too, which is why the crappy online options in 5th gen were annoying, all they needed was to allow level rounding in 6v6 and I'd be down.

Yupyup, I definitely know him, he'll go to IRL meets when he can (mainly the big ones considering the distance, I sat next to him at Zelda concert). Unless somehow I'm mistaken he wasn't *directly* involved with the creation of the site, not one of the staff or anything, and as of late not aaaall that active, but all those who met up, since heaps of site admins are among us (and there's no real difference when we meet up), had heard about the lead up to the site. Also, as the changeover was near there was some hype building and all of us basically tried to mention it to friends.

Yeah, I still tend to play standard, but my focus is to use what I find fun to use, sometimes that ends up being super OU stuff (Scizor is fun to use), but that's rarely why I'll choose something. I know enough that I can enjoy making the things I like as good as they can be.

Steam can work, also PMs here (pretty sure I get notifications by email) or on AC. May be worth giving a bit of notice for some things, being between two places among other things like internet issues CAN make impromptu stuff hard (although it never hurts to ask, not like I can always commit either).

Yeah hsb he was probably just spamming so people would see it. I work with him, haha. Funny guy :P
Pretty sure you would've played some Pacman VS with him when he goes to meets. I've played a few times at get together and fuck me it's good haha! He's mentioned meeting up with the nintendo crew a bunch of time tbh, just not heaps recently.

Oh, we all did, it was pretty important to most of us, people basically giving up a bunch of time and money for the community. AN would have slowly died. We've certainly played Pacman vs. at the big meets, even set it up with Gameboy Players such that it was entirely on TVs (between us we have a fair chunk of equipment, a few Virtual Boys even). Don't remember who specifically I've played against.

With things like the Japan trip a bunch of people took (I was SO close to being able to go, would have been amazing), and general life stuff meetups have been hard. Although I did see a bunch including St. Cam on Friday.

Haha, may need to update stuff as well, even I do from my B/W team, the metagame changes so much.
