Injjustice General Discussion
« on: April 03, 2013, 01:18:24 PM »
Injustice demo was released today on the US PSN. I don't know if its out on the AU/EU one yet but guys check it out. Its pretty fun from what i've played so far. The AI is a lot harder compared to Mortal Kombat which is good I guess lol. Its just over half a gig in size, you get 3 characters (Batman, Wonderwoman and Lex Luthor) and one stage (technically 2 since you have the stage transition). It gives you access to VS play and a 4 character ladder.

Let me know your thoughts on the game.

Edit: Wow just realised made a typo in the heading....

I tried out the demo of Injustice. I haven't watched any gameplay footage of this game. I heard the game has crossups but holy crap, the cross-ups!
The cross up whip with Wonder-woman is huge!

LOL wonderwoman's b+2,3 is huge. The range on that normal is fkin ridiculous.
And try lex's jumping 3, the cross up for that axe is just stupid lol.

^That reminds me, what is the notation for MK games? I never really understood it.

Also, what will be the standard control scheme for this game? Block button or hold back? I understand it had options for both?

Based on default layout in the demo, (and on my VSHG; 6 buttons, Madcatz layout)

1 2 5
3 4 6

1 is L
2 is M
3 is H
4 is T - trait button. It is like the Drive button in Blazblue where they do character exclusive moves
5 is stage interaction
6 is EX special/meter burn. You can pushblock with it for 1 meter

1+3 is throw
1+2 is stage interaction
2+3 is stance change
1+2+3 is EX special/meter burn
2+3+6 is super (strange, i know...)
b+3 is stage transition (if not near enough, it will wall bounce opponent instead)

Personally, I probably want something like this:

1 2 3
4 6 5

And yes, you hold back to block. I dunno whatever notation Injustice is going to standard but I've seen devs use notation very similar to Tekken's (non-Japanese).

You must master the stick before you master the game.

Are unblockables A Thing in this? I found a neat setup with The Joker but I'm unsure if there's something in the game that prevents me from successfully applying it.

edit: Hahahahaha just tested it, okay, that's awesome. Joker owns.

How does this play? I might download the demo. I never really gave it a second glance but since it's out now I might try it. Not buying it though. Last 3 fighting games I bought after SF are beer mats.

Mortal Kombat with DC comic book characters, crossups, LMH button config (and extra mechanics) and without a block button

I tried the demo and wasn't impressed but the retail version seems better from watching streams. Also I've heard the retail build has an option for Street Fighter style inputs which has gotten me interested as I'm terrible doing MK inputs on a stick. The story mode looks awesome from watching Arturo's stream. I'm currently sitting on the fence for this one.

I was playing this yesterday and it feels so fucking weird to play compared to pretty much any other fighter I play.

There are so many buttons and features, and I can't help but feel most aren't really necessary. Stance change for example, is there any point to that button for most characters in the game? Apart from that I need to get my head around how to do combos and the 'proper' way to play the game.

Also, some of those supers are crazy, Superman's seems to be unblockable, fast moving across the screen and has armour? It seems you can punish anything with it!
