Awesome event guys. Had so much fun for my first YSB.
You guys helped us out with the MK and Injustice tournaments so much.

Have to thank Yousseff and Erks in particular for helping us run the Injustice tournie.

I'm sorry the MK and Injustice tournies ran so late. I grossly overunestimated the time the matches took. I did do calculations, but ended up rounding down based on our other experience with the online tournaments. We will make sure to delay the tournies next time.

But again a big thank you to Spencer and Shane who helped us so much on the day.

Hey fellas, my apologies in advance for this question as it looks like its been addressed in the tech talk thread already.

I've seen discussions about playing offline as opposed to online and the difference this has on timing or at least ones perception of it. I really struggled at YSB with my timing to the point where my execution was out of control and I couldn't even do BnB's. I was trying to input one thing and something else would usually come out.

Could someone tell me what the deal is with these monitors and input lag? I have no idea and just play through a Teac TV that I use for PC
as well. I'm happy to acquire one of the BenQ models that were setup if it will make a difference.

The short version: Your Teac television lags horribly.

We use a mix of 24" BenQ G and E series monitors at YSB and at our national tournaments. Likewise for organisers in the other states - BenQ E and G series monitors have become the 'standard' of sorts due to their low input lag, acceptable size and excellent price. BenQ also have the XL series, though their key feature set is redundant on the PS3 and Xbox consoles.

I'd recommend picking up the BenQ GW2450 HM screen. These can be had for around $200 $170. Note that the GW has a 27" variant (with equal input lag timing) for a little more ( http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_gw2750hm.htm ).

A review of the 24" version, with respect to input lag. You'll notice it basically gets as low as measured input lag comes:

I've been hitting practice mode, and it's just the same as offline VS mode speed.

I recommend that if you're looking to get more used to offline timing. I'm giving it a go.
