SSF4AE 2012 @ City Amusement
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:13:24 PM »
I dropped by CA in Market City tonight and noticed they have 4 new machines for AE.
Price is $1.15, and reloading a higher amount on your card gives bonus dollars etc.
Similar deal with TZ, but sticks and buttons are new and feel fine to me.

FOUR MACHINES

What are the chances of people migrating to CA from TZ?

P.S This is also where the Syd Tekken crew play on Tues and Sats.

Cheers for the heads-up, might check it out. TZ's units are hilarious. (By the way, what is 'CA'? ICSTOUOA.)

There's a decent machine at the arcade next to Hoyts in Broadway also. Catch is that its running Super only though.
So keep your bankroll lottery eat your salad day deathbed motorcade.

Sadly city amusements is a bit too out of the way for myself. Despite this I'd still probably be playing tz.because of the free daily games and the new stay free monday promo.

I'm excited to hear about new machines though!

Thanks for posting about it! No harm in having another option to play!

I just ask that if people do play at City Amusements can we settle on which nights will be CA nights? The same as, from what you said, the nights for Tekken is Tuesday and Saturday etc.

It's just bit of a walk between the two arcades and wouldn't be cool to have half players at Timezone and half at City Amusements.

For me personally I'll play at both. Timezone is still better location plus I get two free credits each day.

Looks like Tuesday and Thursday are the extra dollar days. This add is from April though so it could have changed since then.

I will destroy all at music games.

Tues bonus dollars is why the Tekken crew go there.
Having both SF and Tekken communities together again is a majorly good thing I believe.

Has there ever been KOF in the Sydney arcade scene?

I remembered Chatswood Timezone may have had it once upon a time when I was just a lad.

Both Galaxy and Tz had the first release of Kof13 but it wasn't. Popular at all. Galaxy later got the rerelease but it was already too late..

KOF was a dominant game in arcades up till '02, and after that you would still see 98UM in GW for a while.

Just heard from Ikuya that CA machines have a win limit of....2win streak.
Next I have time would probably be next Tues, so if nobody talks to the staff before then, then I shall do it next week.
Ikuya doesnt know how to explain to staff lol...

Yas (Japanese Ken) and I went to City Amusements tonight to check out the new SSF4 AE machines...

Brand new machines!!

4 Cabinets!

Official arcade move lists!

But wait a minute... Machines are not linking...

Can only vs CPU!

CPU TOO STRONG.

BUT the story continues...

Youssef (Tekken community leader) talked to City Amusement manager (who is the dark skinned guy who was the manager of Timezone who also worked at Galaxy World).

The technician is going to get all the machines linked and it should be ready by end of this week or early next week.

I wasn't aware of the 2 win limit Ikuya experienced so that information still needs to be passed on to the manager.

Overall the cabinets look brand new and the sticks and buttons work flawlessly (Trevor hasn't been there yet!  ;) ), the place is also air conditioned and there wasn't much riff raff off the street so probably a better atmosphere.

And yes Tuesday is actual double dollar night so charge of $20 you get $41 credit.
