Hey all!

Firstly, huge shoutouts to Kay for starting the event. He has asked me to take the reins so that he can focus on running King of the Iron Scrub. In view of this, Throwdown Thursdays have undergone a change of management, and a slight name change!

Nothing will be changing about the format of the event: it will still be a double elimination, 2/3 event, with grand finals running 3/5.

We will be kicking off at 6:30PM AEST every second Thursday, unless otherwise specified. If you're interested in being part of the action, I'll be posting links to sign-up pages regularly. TNT's Challonge hub can be found here.

If you'd rather watch from the sidelines, or you'd like to keep up with the action in-between matches, the entire event is streamed from my twitch.tv channel here.

TOURNAMENT RULES

  • All sets are best 2 of 3 matches, excluding grand finals which run 3 out of 5.
  • The losing player can switch characters between matches. Both players can switch ultras if necessary.
  • Both players can re-pick characters in the event of a bracket reset in grand finals.
  • All players must be ready to play at the scheduled time, but things happen! If you are unable to compete when asked, please inform the tournament runner ahead of time so that your matches can be rescheduled as best as possible.
  • In the event that no other matches can be run, you will be sent to the loser's bracket/ejected from the competition.
  • Lag is to be expected in any online environment. SF4 netcode is good enough that it can be played without issue most of the time, but if lag is a serious issue in any given match (disconnection; substantial, unrecoverable freezes; etc) we ask that you play your matches off-stream. Failing that, the offending party should forfeit the match out of courtesy.
  • Please sign up for tournaments using the name you intend to play with, to make finding matches easier.
  • Upon signing up, please add me on Steam at http://steamcommunity.com/id/goodpart so that I can find you more easily.

We're up to 16 now. Thanks to all that have entered :) To all the killers from last week, please get back in this week; Niah is currently looking good to improve on his 5th place performances, and we just can't have that happen. Remember to add me on Steam to make things easier.

cran, wata no enter~

edit: Shang Tsung is in - someone come take him down if you can!

Thanks to everyone who spectated/participated! There were some issues for sure, but it's a learning experience. Til next time, hopefully bigger and better. For now I'm gonna recover from this flu, grow some extra arms to deal with the 4 screens I had in front of me, and blast my throat with cough drops. Your top 8 for the tourney:

1. Shang Tsung (SAK)
2. Somniac (DEC)
3. Naruga (ELE)
4. beef (SAK)
5. Achilles (ROS)
5. bksama (COD)
7. Niah (CLA)
7. fknbun (IBU)

Felt like it ran long but we we only ran 20 mins longer than last time, even with 27 entrants. Crazy. If you'd like to see full results + brackets, you can click this http://thursdaynightthrowdown.challonge.com/tnt_14_5

Hey, congratulations to Shang for another victory this week! Here were the final results:

1. ShangTsung (ABL, ERY, AKU, CLW)
2. Flash___ (YUN)
3. stekoh (ABL)
4. SPAMMERR (KEN)
5. vindk8 (DHA, ELF, GKN)
5. furyblitz (YAN)
7. fknbun (IBU)
7. fkn_Rossco (BXR, ROS)

Grats to Flash in particular for being the giant killer of the night, taking out the likes of genxa, rossco, vindik8, SPAMMERR and stekoh in consecutive matches to make the final.

Big thanks to FithAlucard for stepping in as co-commentator at the last second, and disabling my headset drivers (htf do you even do that) with screaming.

Full bracket/results available here: http://thursdaynightthrowdown.challonge.com/tnt_28_5

Thanks to the 85+ (!!) people that tuned in during the night. We picked up some attention in Cali and France of all places, so hopefully we impressed.
